This course is ideal for those who find it difficult to commit to the traditional 2 days of consecutive training. By attending the FLEXIBLE 1 day per week course the Learner can meet the requalification requirements to maintain their certification.
Over the course of 2 days (1 day per week) the objective is to enable the Learner to refresh their knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations and/or take on the role of first aider in the workplace. It is designed to refresh their skills and knowledge built on a foundation having already successfully achieved their initial FAW course leading to a requalification of certification.

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) Requalification contains 2 mandatory units:
Qualification Unit 1
By the end of this unit, the learner will:
- Recognise the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Be able to assess an incident
- Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty, a casualty who is choking and/or a casualty with external bleeding
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
Qualification Unit 2
By the end of this unit, the learner will:
- Be able to conduct a secondary survey
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with:
- suspected chest injuries
- burns and scalds
- an eye injury
- sudden poisoning
- anaphylaxis
- suspected major illness
In order to complete this qualification, you will be assessed as part of this course. This includes six Practical and two Theory assessments as well as continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course. Learners must complete all assessments in both units successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 10 weeks.
The First Aid at Work (QRF) Re-Qualification is specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update their first aid skills yearly, until re-qualification training is required.
Learners will receive an OFQUAL accredited certificate on achieving this qualification. This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years.
